To me, fashion is a comfortable aesthetic state enabling the identification of an individual despite intersectionality. It transcends borders and goes beyond race and gender.

FABRICS: WOOL /DENIM /LINENIn my upcycling design, I intended to focus on enhancing the significance of usually overlooked elements like pockets, buttons, hemlines, and belt loops found in everyday ready-to-wear garments. By enlarging the scale of these elements, I aim to challenge the perception of their insignificance and emphasize their importance in the finishing of a garment.

Inspired by the impractically small pockets in women's skinny jeans, I aimed to address the disparity between men's and women's pocket sizes perpetuated by a historically male-dominated fashion industry. Hence I incorporate an extra-large pocket resembling a jeans pocket, highlighting the irony of fashion industry norms that prioritize aesthetics over functionality. This serves as a statement against gender norms and societal expectations, providing women with a functional and practical clothing option that challenges the limitations imposed on them.
